For the second time in a week, a pedestrian was killed by DART commuter train The Trinity Railway Express, which runs between Dallas, Texas and Fort Worth, Texas. The impact pushed the victim’s body into a nearby intersection and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The train operator saw the pedestrian and sounded the horn. Last week, a man crossing the tracks in the same area of Dallas was struck and killed. The case was ruled an accident.
This pedestrian’s death was the 11th fatality involving the express train since it began operating in 1996.
The commuter service was interrupted for more than two hours. There were 87 passengers and crew on the train, and no one on board was hurt.
