A 15-year-old passenger on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship has alleged that she was sexually assaulted by two fellow passengers on a cruise line this Christmas.
The two male passengers, including a 20-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy, are being accused of luring the young girl to a private room, where they allegedly raped her. The incident occurred on the Royal Caribbean Allure of the Seas, which set off from Fort Lauderdale on a 10-day cruise that included St. Thomas, St. Maarten, St. Kitts, and Haiti.
According to the teenager’s report, she met the 15-year-old boy at a teen club on the ship. The boy then invited her to a party in his private room where the 20-year-old male was also waiting. Together, they restrained the young girl in the cabin, and proceeded to rape her.
The girl immediately reported the incident to officials on the cruise ship. They reported the crime to the FBI. Both the 20-year-old and 15-year-old boy were arrested as soon as the ship returned to Port Everglades.
This incident is especially concerning to cruise ship injury lawyers because it comes soon after an incident on a Carnival Cruise Lines ship in which a teenage passenger was sexually assaulted. In that case, the 14-year-old passenger was allegedly assaulted by a cruise ship crew member. The crew member has been arrested and charged with sex crimes against minors.
