Giving Back: SMSH Legal Helps Comfort Family of Fallen Bellaire Police Officer

Partner Jonathan Harris’ wife, Tandy Camberg Harris, organized a community outreach which benefited the family of fallen Bellaire police officer, Marco Zarate, who lost his life in the line of duty last week. Schechter, Shaffer & Harris, L.L.P., Accident & Injury Lawyers contributed to the outreach by providing Zarate’s family with a day’s worth of meals from Escalante’s (a family favorite.) Harris and 100 other community members have signed up to deliver three meals a day, including dessert, for more than a week to his family and fellow police officers from the Bellaire Police Department.

“He was such a wonderful and generous man,” said Harris. “He did so much for his family and our community that we felt the need to give back to them and to the police officers during their time of grief.” Marco Zarate leaves behind a wife, 11-year old twin daughters and a 25-year-old daughter.
