A fire broke out at a Citgo Petroleum Corp. refinery in Corpus Christi on Wednesday.
No one was injured in the blaze, which occurred on scaffolding surrounding a crude unit that was already shut down for planned maintenance.
Citgo personnel were evacuated to safe areas during the fire, while crews brought in equipment to spray foam on the tower and extinguish it. No one was injured, and nearby residents were not required to take any action.
Fire crews extinguished the blaze after several hours, and the plant resumed normal operations around 5 p.m.
