A spring break enforcement effort involving a 10-day crackdown on drunken driving in Sugar Land led to more than a dozen arrests. The Sugar Land Police Department dedicated officers to catching drunken drivers in targeted areas, and arrested 13 suspects between March 12 and 21.
An Impaired Driving Mobilization Grant of $7,996 funded overtime for participating officers. The was grant issued as part of a cooperative effort among the Texas Department of Transportation, the Texas Department of Public Safety and local law enforcement agencies.
