Drunk Driver in Austin Plows into Crowd, Kills 2

Two people were killed and at least 23 others injured when an intoxicated driver in Austin plowed his car into a crowd of people at the South by Southwest festival.

The suspect was driving the wrong way on a one-way street when authorities attempted to pull him over. The driver sped away, almost striking an officer, and later ran into the crowd.

A man and woman were killed while on their motorcycles. At least 23 other people, most of them in their 20s, were taken to the hospital. Some of the injured suffered multiple internal injuries.

The driver is in custody, facing two counts of capital murder and 23 counts of aggravated assault by vehicle.
