SEATTLE – The U.S. Coast Guard medically evacuated a sick male crewmember from the tug boat Swinomish at 6:19 p.m., Thursday.
The 57-year-old male was transferred to Emergency Medical Services in Port Townsend, Wash.
The ill or injured crewmember was transferred from the 68-foot tug boat to awaiting EMS at Point Hudson marina in Port Townsend.
The Puget Sound tugboat Swinomish is owned and operated by Dunlap Towing Company. According to its web site, “Dunlap Towing Company is a marine towing contractor providing general towing services to the maritime industry. Our service areas include the Puget Sound and lower British Columbia and coastwise from California to Alaska, as well as offshore. We have served the forest products industry for over eighty years and for the last thirty years have provided reliable tug and barge service towing general freight barges to Alaska and Hawaii.”
