A pipeline explosion Tuesday morning sparked a fire at Enterprise Products in Morgan’s Point near La Porte, causing minor injuries to two workers and shutting the plant down.
The explosion occurred around 10:30 a.m. in the plant’s meter-run facility where liquid petroleum gas is measure before being loaded into barges and ships. The plant was shut down while firefighters worked to get the flames under control, but officials said no hydrocarbons were released. No shelter in place was issued for the area.
Though contractors were working in the area when the blast happened, there were only two workers who suffered minor injuries. The injured were treated at the scene and release.
