The Texas comptroller’s office on Friday announced $6 million in federal grants to help synchronize traffic lights in 15 cities and one county. The timing of green lights will make traffic flow more quickly and more safely. The money will also be used to install LEDs in traffic signals to cut down on electricity use.
Among the communities sharing the funds are Fort Worth, Grand Prairie, Bryan, North Richland Hills, Grapevine, Killeen, Beaumont, Missouri City, Frisco, and Waco, plus Montgomery County.
