Joshua DeShawn Gilbert was driving at more than 100 mph on Highway 288 when he suddenly took the Airport Boulevard exit, crashing into the back of another vehicle that was also exiting, police said. The accident occurred about 2:35 a.m. Feb. 9.
A family of four was in the other car, an engaged couple and two children. The father and his fiance’s 15-year-old daughter were pronounced dead at the scene. The mother and 3-year-old daughter were taken to a Houston hospital, listed in serious but stable condition.
