Tanisha Branch, 22, was driving her Saturn in the wrong direction on the freeway at nearly 90 miles per hour when she struck a Mercedes, injuring its driver and killing her own passenger.
Tenisha Branch was taken to the hospital in stable condition. Her blood alcohol level was found to be twice the legal limit and an open container was found inside of her vehicle. A passenger in Branch’s car was pronounced dead at the scene of the DUI accident and the driver of the Mercedes that she hit was Life Flighted to a Memorial Hermann Hospital.
Ms. Branch has been charged with intoxication manslaughter. She is in the custody of deputies at Ben Taub General Hospital.
The passenger in Ms. Branch’s Saturn was unnecessarily killed as a result of the drunk driver’s grossly negligent actions. Those who survive her will have a claim against Ms. Branch and her insurance company for damages related to the fatal Texas drunk driving accident.
