Officials said Tuesday that the number of people who died in the West fertilizer plant explosion stands now at 15. At least 200 people were injured in the tragedy.
Mayor Pro Tem Steve Vanek said that they believe all the blast victims have been found.
“No more victims. Everything is searched,” Vanek said in a news conference Tuesday.
Investigators from state and federal agencies still were investigating the cause of the massive explosion that rocked this small Texas town of 2,800 people. The blast left behind a crater 93 feet wide and 10 feet deep. So far, authorities seem to have ruled out natural causes, such as a lightning strike, according to a Dallas Morning News report.
A memorial is planned for Thursday in honor of the victims of last Wednesday’s explosion.
