Air Liquide has released the identity of a worker killed in an explosion at a La Porte plant on Saturday. Javier Ortiz was reported missing after the blast and was found by search crews after about 12 hours. Another employee remained hospitalized in serious but stable condition with burn injuries.
Fire investigators were looking for the cause of the blast over the weekend at the gas cylinder filling plant. A shelter-in-place order was issued after the blast, but authorities said that air monitoring found no dangerous substances.
