At least two were killed and dozens injured today when a charter bus crashed in Irving, Texas.
The Cardinal Coach bus was traveling east of Dallas/Ft. Worth International Airport on State Highway 161, carrying 45 passengers, retired people on a gambling outing to a Choctaw casino in Oklahoma. The bus weaved across the highway, struck a concrete barier and flipped on its side into the center median. Emergency crews used ladders to pull trapped passengers out of the bus through broken windows.
A Texas Department of Public Safety trooper confirmed that two were killd, and hospital officials said about three dozen were being treated, many for fractured bones.
According to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration information, Cardinal Coach has no crashes reported in the last two years that resulted in death or injury. There was no immediate report on what caused the accident, and law enforcement officials were interviewing witnesses and bus passengers.
