Icy road conditions are to blame for two Texas Motor Vehicle Accidents and one unfortunate death. Paul Smith, 36, of Haltom City died in an accident on Interstate 30 near Arlington, Texas. The wreck involved five cars, two 18-wheelers and two pickups, according to local police.
Two vehicles were involved in an initial wreck that caused subsequent crashes because of the slick conditions.
Police closed the westbound lanes of Interstate 30 for several hours.
This Texas Trucking Accident led to the sixth traffic fatality in Arlington this year.
When there is a traffic accident on an icy road, one factor contributing to the accident may be that a driver did not use reasonable caution given the road conditions. However, even given the icy road, the semitrailer truck driver, his employer, the owner of the freight, and others can potentially be liable for a fatal trucking accident.
