A 33-year-old Houston man died Monday night when the forklift he was operating at a local business overturned onto him.

Houston police on Tuesday identified the man as Marco Aurelio Rodriguez. According to authorities, Rodriguez was using the forklift to move a hopper containing scrap metal across the yard when it fell over the edge of a drain area.

Rodriguez was ejected, and the forklift landed on him. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident, which occurred at 13240 Hempstead Highway at about 11 p.m., appeared to be an accident and foul play was not suspected, police said.
