San Jacinto River Tugboat Accident, 1 Dead

Houston Tugboat Accident – 1 Fatality

Earlier today the Coast Guard announced that a body was found while searching for a crew member of a tugboat that had capsized this morning on the San Jacinto River. At roughly 7:45 am four of the five crew members were pulled to safety, but one went missing. The body was recovered around 10 am. The name of the victim has not been released so far.

Rescue Team

The Coast Guard was dispatched after the crew member went missing. Rescue boats and a helicopter were a part of the recovery team that responded. A rescue boat team and a dive team were dispatched from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office joined in the search efforts. Currently, the Coast Guard is investigating how the accident occurred.
