Houston Astros player, George Springer, knows all too well what it’s like to be a kid who stutters, and the challenges and ridicule from others that can come with it. It’s easy for kids to get discouraged and undermine their self-confidence when they feel they are misunderstood or looked upon differently. That’s why George became the spokesperson for SAY: The Stuttering Association for the Young. This non-profit organization hosts a summer camp called “Camp SAY” each year for kids and teens who stutter. This amazing outlet provides a safe and accepting atmosphere that allows kids to exercise their unique voice in a fun-filled, traditional summer camp setting.
Schechter, Shaffer & Harris, L.L.P., Accident & Injury Lawyers was proud to be a sponsor for the “Third Annual George Springer All- Star Bowling Benefit” which allows children the opportunity to attend Camp Say! To date, no family has been turned away due to a family’s ability to pay.
