Car Accident Dos and Don’ts

Being involved in a car accident can be an emotional and traumatic experience. Our adrenaline levels are heightened from our bodies’ natural responses and we may not be thinking clearly. It is best to try to stay calm by taking several deep breaths while using the dos and don’ts as illustrated in the following infographic.

One important thing to keep in mind is to always call 911 so you can get a police report to document the accident. Simply exchanging insurance information may not be sufficient to file a claim with your insurance company.

In addition, you want to make sure to seek medical treatment for any type of injury, including minor pains, aches, and scrapes. It is not unheard of for a person involved in an auto accident to initially not feel any pain or discomfort, only to start to notice they were indeed injured a day or two later.
