Two Killed in Multiple Vehicle Crash in Pearland, Texas

Early this morning, a double fatal accident occurred on Highway 35 in Pearland, Texas. The crash took place on Highway 35 near Dixie Farm Road just south of Pearland High School. Two fatalities have been confirmed and several others are injured.One vehicle traveling southbound appears to have crossed over the center line and struck several vehicles, hitting one head-on. A Chevrolet truck burst into flames, trapping the driver, and causing a chain reaction involving five more vehicles.
SkyFOX captured image you see on this blog post of the accident site, showing a white truck crashed in between a crushed unidentifiable vehicle and a burgundy Toyota car in a ditch. Another white truck and a red sport utility vehicle crashed on the highway.
Investigators say nine total vehicles were involved in the accident.
The victims have not been identified at this time.Emergency officials have closed Highway 35 in both directions.
