Texas truck accident attorneys will tell you – you never get used to the heartache you feel when you come across some of the most innocent victims of these crashes. A Caldwell County family is calling on a trucker involved in a fatal hit and run accident with their car, to surrender. According to the Texas Department Safety, the trucker is likely the cause of a fatal car crash that killed 5-year-old Lilly Bunker.
The truck accident occurred on the 26th of October on state highway 80. An 18 wheeler driver was trying to switch lanes when he struck a Mercedes, sending the car into oncoming traffic. The Mercedes struck the car in which Lilly and her Brother Jamie were traveling. Lily sustained serious injuries, and was rushed to the hospital. She died that night. Witnesses at the scene have described the rig as a white or gray 18 wheeler gravel truck. Troopers are asking for any information that could help locate the runaway truck driver.
Our hearts go out to Lily Bunker’s family, and we pray for strength for them in this time of loss. They are being brave, asking for the trucker to step forward and own up to his act, just so they can attain some kind of closure. It’s a little hard to believe that the truck driver clipped one vehicle hard enough to send it into another vehicle, and never realized what had happened. As Texas truck accident lawyers, we know that it’s hard to be optimistic when it comes to locating hit and run drivers. But, we hope that the trucker here is located by police, or turns himself as quickly as possible.
Truck Accident Prevention
Unfortunately, Lily Bunker will not be the last casualty this year. Every year, 5,000 people lose their lives in accidents involving these massive tractor trailers. The responsibility to drive safely is much greater on a trucker, simply because of the grave destruction that can occur in accidents involving large trucks. When a trucker fails in that duty, the only ones who suffer are the people in the smaller vehicles.Post a Comment to "Texas Truck Accident Victim’s Family Pleads for Hit and Run Driver to Come Forward"
