An accident happened around 1:30p.m. Thursday at mile marker 560 on Interstate 30 in Hooks, Texas, involving a flatbed 18 wheeler. The rig was crossing a bridge at mile marker 560 when the truck clipped the bridge. The rig then went into a median, came back to the interstate and then went across the westbound lanes of Interstate 30, continuing across an access road, through a fence and finally coming to rest after hitting a tree, according to troopers and witnesses at the scene.
After striking the tree, the rig burst into flames. Witnesses tried to rescue the victim when the rig burst into flames, but were unsuccessful.
The victims name has yet to be released. An autopsy is pending.
In related news, in Houston, a Big rig accident crushed car. Dynasty Trucking was transporting a container owned by General Marine Leasing, which was a portable galley, used for cooking offshore. It was being transported from Louisiana to Brownsville when it fell off the truck and crused an SUV.
