SMSH Settles $17,755,000 Jones Act Case

BREAKING NEWS -- SCHECHTER, MCELWEE, SHAFFER & HARRIS, LLP has settled a Jones Act injury case for $17,755,000! The injuries sustained by our client included severe brain injuries resulting in persistent vegetative state. After all costs are deducted, the plaintiffs received cash and the funding of an annuity totaling $13,213,820. The result is believed to be one of the largest reported settlements of a claim wherein a single maritime worker was injured. This case was resolved and paid within TWELVE MONTHS of the client hiring our firm.
