Maritime Lawyer Matthew Shaffer Honored Again in Best Lawyers List

For the 9th year in a row, Matthew Shaffer has been selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America in admiralty and maritime law.

Since 1983, the Best Lawyers list has been the gold standard in attorney referral guides. The list includes the top attorneys in 124 specialties in all 50 states. To be included, attorneys are rigorously evaluated in a confidential process and voted on by their peers.

Mr. Shaffer began his law career more than 25 years ago representing large corporate clients. In 1992, he joined Schechter, Shaffer & Harris, L.L.P., Accident & Injury Lawyers to dedicate his practice to helping working men and women recover compensation for injuries sustained on the job.

Today, he is a managing partner of the firm who has significant experience in litigating maritime claims. He has helped clients who have been affected by some of the nation’s biggest maritime disasters, including the Deepwater Horizon explosion of 2010. Recently, he successfully settled the largest single victim Jones Act claim on record for a client who suffered a brain injury.
