Man falls from barge into Mississippi River, dies

Authorities said a man working on a barge died after he fell into the Mississippi River in eastern Iowa.  Police said the accident happened Tuesday night at the Blackhawk Fleet Terminal.  Apparently he was working on the barge, fell off into the water, and was swept under another barge.  The accident happened near Buffalo on the Mississippi River.  When emergency crews arrived, the man was unconscious and not breathing.  He was taken to a Davenport hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
