Houston Texas Semi Truck Accident on Interstate-10 Turns Fatal
by Stacey E. Burke on November 22, 2009
A cargo truck driver was killed in a semi truck accident on Interstate-10 at Jenson early Friday morning, November 20, 2009 in Houston, Texas. The 18 wheeler jackknifed and ran into the overpass, smashing the cab, and killing the driver. The cargo truck was going about 60 or 65 mph when its driver lost control on a turn, leading to a full jackknife. The semi truck driver died upon the impact with a guardrail and then crashed. The wet roadway from the rain most likely contributed to the accident. The semi truck driver was not wearing a seat belt.
Concerns were expressed about overhead gas pipelines that run above the support columns on the bridge.
