  • Gonzales, Texas Fatal Motorcycle Crash Kills Husband, Injures Wife

by Stacey E. Burke on March 30, 2010

Eric Coleman, 44, evening coordinator and instructor of the Del Mar College GED program was killed in a motorcycle accident this weekend.  His wife, Leola Coleman, riding as his passenger at the time of the crash, sustained multiple injuries in the accident.  She has been employed in Del Mar College's Cosmetology department for nine years.

The accident occurred in Gonzales, Texas when a white Chevrolet van veered into their lane.  The couple was driving home from Lockhart.  The Colemans were on Highway 183 near State Highway 97 when the fatal Texas Motorcycle Crash took place.  The van's driver was cited for failing to yield.

Mrs. Coleman underwent emergency surgery at University Medical Center in San Antonio and is scheduled for a second surgery on Friday. Her condition is critical but stable.  Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Mr. & Mrs. Coleman at this tragic time.

Motorcycle accidents are among the most dangerous accidents for the bike riders and passengers involved.  Every year hundreds of motorcycle riders and passengers are seriously injured or killed in Texas, often due to the negligence of a car or truck driver.  If you have been injured in a motorcycle accident, or have lost a loved one due to the negligence of another driver, SMSH can help you recover the financial compensation you are entitled to.  Although no amount of money will repair the damage of losing someone you love, society must hold reckless drivers accountable for their actions.

We represent people who have received catastrophic injuries in Texas Motorcycle Accidents, such as:

    • Traumatic head injuries, brain injuries
    • Paralysis, spinal cord injuries
    • Disfigurement and scarring
    • Burns
    • Loss of limb, amputation
    • Other serious injuries

We also have successfully obtained significant compensation for families who have lost a loved one in fatal motorcycle accidents.  If someone you loved was killed in a bike accident, you may be entitled to damages for the loss of companionship and the loss of financial support you have suffered as a result of this wrongful death.  If you have been injured because of the careless or intentional actions of another, you are entitled to financial compensation for your medical expenses, property damage, and any other costs stemming from the accident, including future expenses, and pain and suffering caused by the injury.  If you have suffered a personal injury from a mtoorcycle collision please contact SMSH today to discuss your legal rights and just compensation for your injury.
