Carnival Cruise Ship Worker Dies in Accident

A cruise ship worker died Sunday morning after an accident while working on the outside of the ship, the U.S. Coast Guard said.

The worker, who has not been identified, was painting the side of the ship when other workers raised the man lift. The lift flipped, crushing the worker against the deck of the ship. EMS pronounced the worker dead at the scene.

The Coast Guard is investigating at the scene of the accident, which occurred about 9:50 a.m. on a Carnival Conquest cruise ship.
