Big rig loses tire on I-35, strikes minivan injuring child

A freak accident occurred on Interstate 35E in southern Dallas, Texas Friday morning, injuring one child.
A fuel tanker lost one of its front tires, sending the giant tire into the median before it struck at least one vehicle - a minivan, damaging the minivan's passenger window. The southbound tanker lost its tire as it passed the Ledbetter Drive exit in the Red Bird area, WFAA-TV (Channel 8) reported - see video after the click.
A child inside the minivan was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries.
The driver of the fuel tanker will not face any charges for the accident.
